Here’s the set-up.

You’ve done your time. Paced sites. Smoothed over subcontractors. Played “find the client” every Friday. You know your way around the groundworks game – especially on residential plots – and you’ve made things work with less support than a one-legged scaffolder.

Now, how about backing a new name on the block? Not “new” as in clueless. We’re talking seasoned operators launching a groundworks arm with financial firepower, repeat business lined up, and plans that stretch way beyond laying kerbs and pouring slabs.

They’re after a Contracts Manager who’s been around the block (ideally a few hundred plots’ worth) to help build something serious. This isn’t about keeping the ship steady – it’s helping steer it. From day one.

What’s on offer:

You’ll oversee multiple sites across the West Midlands. Lead teams. Liaise with clients. Keep programmes ticking without playing the “scope creep bingo” game. You’ll be the one people come to for solutions, not just sign-offs.

And here’s the kicker – they’re not looking for someone to stay still. There’s a Construction Director seat with your name on it, medium-to-long term. They want someone who can grow with them. Develop systems. Build teams. Shape the future.

You’ll need:

  • Residential groundworks experience (if you’ve dealt with the big boy housebuilders you’re in the right place)

  • The calm of a monk when kit breaks down on Friday at 4pm.

  • A sharp eye for programme, quality and margin.

  • A bit of vision. And the stomach for building something.
