Senior Estimator/Estimator – West Midlands – Civils – Op’s people – Sick of mud on your boots?
Our client is a leading civil engineering contractor who are dominant in the water industry. With an enviable history and pedigree in the sector they benefit from having frameworks with multiple water authorities UK wide. These frameworks agreements and relationships are long-term in nature with several water authorities across the country. They deliver infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects in water as well as projects for Network Rail and National Grid. As part of a structured growth plan, they are recruiting a Senior Estimator/Estimator to join their work-winning team. The role will be office-based in the West Midlands with occasional site visits, as necessary. The Senior/Estimator/Estimator will:
- Produce estimates for projects in line with company processes
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and manage risk
- Maintain the risk register
- Price tenders to deadlines
To be considered for the position you’ll have a background and track-record with a recognised civil engineering contractor in a similar role. Ideally, you’ll have a BSc/HNC in civil engineering (or equivalent). The role may also suit someone who has fulfilled an operational role in civil engineering contractor as a Site Agent, Sub Agent or Site Engineer and wants a change of direction career-wise. Estimating offers a different kind of career path which is at the sharp end of value engineering and problem solving to lead to the right kind of work winning. It is also office-based and very well paid currently sitting as one of the best paying job types in the industry.
