This is a West Midlands-based residential groundworks contractor. Small team. Big ambition.

The company’s established, stable and trading well — but still early enough in its journey that the way things are done isn’t set in stone.

They’re now looking for a Contracts Manager who wants to be part of that next chapter — not just deliver projects, but help shape how the business grows.

You’ll be overseeing multiple housing infrastructure sites — roads, sewers, plots, externals — across the Midlands.

Nothing chaotic. Nothing half-baked.

Just well-won work for respected regional housebuilders who like dealing with grown-ups.

This isn’t a clipboard role. You’ll be hands-on — guiding Site Managers, managing clients, and making the commercial calls that keep jobs on track and profitable.

You’ll also have a genuine say in how things are run: systems, suppliers, staffing, the lot.

If you’ve ever said, “If it were my company, I’d do it differently” —
this is your chance to prove it, without remortgaging the house and taking on director loan guarantees.

Someone else has already done that…but you still get to share in the journey and the rewards…

You’ll report directly to the MD — a straight-talking, site-bred operator who actually listens.

He wants someone who’ll challenge ideas, not just nod along.

Someone who’ll bring experience, initiative and a bit of backbone and more than a little pushback.

• Visibility — decisions get made in minutes, not months.

You’ll need a solid background running residential groundworks packages — roads, sewers, plots, externals — ideally in a Contracts or Project Manager role.
Commercial awareness’s a must; calm under pressure’s non-negotiable.

You’ll look after multiple residential groundworks contracts but the key is the influence you’ll have and how you’ll help shape the future of the business.
