Bid Writer – Civils & Remediation – When the story’s good, writing it gets easier.

Let’s get one thing straight.

This isn’t a bid factory.
And it’s not a role where you’re churning out boilerplate fluff, cutting and pasting last year’s answers, and praying nobody asks questions.

This is a Bid Writer role in a well-established civils and remediation contractor that takes bidding seriously — because winning the right work matters.

They know who they are.
They know what they’re good at.
And they’re selective about what they go after.

Which makes this a far better place to write bids.

The Role

Office based in Gloucestershire you’ll be responsible for producing high-quality, well-thought-out bid submissions across civils and remediation projects.

Not just “making it sound nice”…
But actually shaping how the business presents itself.

You’ll be:

  • Leading written submissions for tenders and PQQs

  • Working closely with pre-construction, commercial, and delivery teams

  • Translating technical detail into clear, persuasive content

  • Helping refine win themes and messaging — not just formatting documents

  • Bringing structure and calm to live bids, rather than last-minute chaos

You’ll be listened to.
Your input will matter.
And if something doesn’t make sense, you’ll be encouraged to say so.

The Business (and the Big Advantage)

The owner is a major figure in the civils and remediation world.

Well-known. Well-connected. Hugely experienced.

Which means:

  • The story you’re telling is a good one

  • The projects are credible

  • And the people you’re writing about actually know what they’re doing

You’ll have direct access to someone who understands what clients want to see — and what they’ve seen a thousand times before.

That’s gold for a Bid Writer.

Variety & Development

The work is varied:

  • Different clients

  • Different sectors

  • Different technical challenges

No two submissions are identical — and you’re not expected to treat them that way.

You’ll be encouraged to improve how the business bids, not just maintain the status quo.
Better structure. Clearer messaging. Smarter responses.

If you want to grow as a Bid Writer — this is a strong platform to do it.

Culture & Shared Success

This is a shared-success business.

When bids convert and projects land, the team feels it.

There’s a proper social side:

  • Henley Regatta

  • Ascot Races

  • Team events that feel earned, not awkward

Professional. Relaxed. Grown-up.

People enjoy working here — and tend to stick around.

Who This Suits

You’ll likely be:

  • An experienced Bid Writer in construction, civils, or infrastructure

  • Comfortable managing your own workload

  • Confident enough to challenge content that doesn’t stack up

  • Calm under pressure when deadlines loom

You don’t need to shout.
You just need to be good.

Why This Role’s Worth a Look

Because good Bid Writers are rare — and this is a place that actually values them.

Interesting work.
Credible leadership.
Room to improve how things are done.

And a business that knows winning work is about quality, not noise.
