If you’re a Commercial Manager who knows the difference between saving money and cutting corners (and who’s survived more than one MD’s “just get it over the line” pep talk), read on.

We’re after a grounded (pun very much intended) Commercial Manager for a growing civils and groundworks firm. Based in Birmingham and working in the East and West Midlands. Proper outfit. Not one of those fly-by-night contractors who disappear faster than a QS on site walkaround day. These lot have steady pipelines, real clients, and even a plan (I know… mad).

You’ll be running multiple groundworks packages – from pricing to final account – with a Commercial Director who won’t nick your ideas and pass them off as their own. You’ll have Estimators who can count, Buyers who can spell, and Site Managers who aren’t on day release.

But here’s the kicker: this is a succession role. The current Commercial Director is thinking about riding off into the sunset in a couple of years. He’s not going tomorrow – but the writing’s on the wall (and on his golf glove). If you’ve got the ambition and the scars, there’s a seat at the top table waiting.

Sensible approach with clients and lots of repeat business  so no fear of every day being an eye poking contest for the commercial team.
